Karen’s exceptional talent and dedication were recognised in 2019 when she was awarded Retail Florist of the Year, and then again in 2024 when she was crowned champion once again, an accolade that only 2 other florists have won twice. Since then, her career has continued to flourish, cementing her position as a leading figure in the Scottish floral scene. Her expertise and passion have earned her an ambassador role with Oasis Floral Products UK, and a place on The Flowers Circus live demonstration stage.

Denise Murphy

A second-generation florist, Denise inherited her love and deep passion for flowers from her Nana Anastasia who ran her own successful florist in Dublin City. Surrounded by flowers her entire life Denise got her first Saturday job at the tender age of 12 and knew that this was the career path for her.

After moving to Scotland Denise took a leap of faith and opened up her own flower shop in Helensburgh and has been trading now for 25 years. Denise adores all aspects of her job but the most meaningful part of her work as a florist is designing funeral flowers. She feels really proud as she gets to help families through some of the hardest moments in life. Creating funeral flowers isn't just about putting together pretty arrangements - it is about telling a story, sharing love, comfort and support when it's needed most. Knowing that flowers can bring a little peace and hope to people means the world to Denise.

Denise feels very privileged and lucky to work in an industry that she will never tire of and can't ever imagine stepping away from the world of flowers.

A passionate horticulturist and florist with a focus on form, flow, and material harmony, she is unafraid to work with unconventional or challenging materials and often gravitates toward single-material compositions in her personal practice - creating pieces that are bold in their simplicity and conceptually focused. With a willingness to challenge traditional design principles, Anja’s work frequently pushes the boundaries of floral design while remaining rooted in nature.
